Natural gas was a colorless, odorless and non-toxic gas.r.- Natural gas, which is offered for commercial use, usually contains hydrocarbons such as 80-95% methane (CH4), 5-10% ethane (C4 H10) and propane (C3 H8).
- The remaining percentage generally consists of nitrogen (N2), carbon dioxide (CO2), hydrogen sulphide (H2S) and helium (She) gases.
- The lower calorific value of natural gas is 30 – 45 MJ / Nm³, its density relative to air is between 0.58 – 0.79 (Air = 1.0).
- Natural gas burns with blue flame and when mixed with air at a certain rate, it has an explosion feature (between 5-15%).
